Our Chinese Chicken Skewers are a wonderfully aromatic addition to the Barlows skewer range – four fresh skewers of generously diced chicken breast, thoroughly marinated in our fragrant Chinese-inspired blend by our fourth-generation Nottinghamshire butchers. Sold raw and ready to cook straight from the pack for a beautifully flavourful result. The Chinese marinade – featuring five-spice, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and a touch of honey – creates a wonderfully complex, aromatic flavour profile that complements the natural sweetness of the chicken beautifully. As the skewers cook, the honey caramelises to create a gorgeous, slightly sticky glaze with a wonderful colour and fragrance. Cook on the BBQ or under a high grill for twelve to fifteen minutes, turning regularly, until the chicken is cooked through and beautifully glazed. Serve with Egg fried rice and stir-fried pak choi for a complete Chinese-inspired meal, or alongside noodles with a drizzle of hoisin sauce and a scattering of spring onions and Sesame seeds.
