Our Gammon Steaks come as two generous 280g cuts, hand-prepared by Barlows' fourth-generation Nottinghamshire butchers – each one a proper, substantial portion of quality cured pork that delivers a satisfying, flavourful meal every time. At 280g each, these are thick, impressive steaks with a wonderful combination of rich, slightly salty cured pork flavour and a firm, satisfying texture. Pan-fried or grilled quickly over high heat, they develop a beautiful, caramelised exterior while remaining wonderfully juicy within. For the ultimate classic British combination, pan-fry in a little Butter for three to four minutes each side, add a fried Egg to the pan and serve with grilled pineapple, thick-cut chips and peas. Or for a more elevated result, glaze with honey, wholegrain Mustard and a splash of Worcestershire sauce and finish under the grill for a gorgeous, sticky coating.
